Application & Maintenance

How to Apply?


All the versions of BIOZINY are very versatile and can be applied using any cloth, Cotton wool, sponge or wipe. It is so versatile that the coating can also be applied with a Tissue Paper. A set of trials with a cloth, cotton wool, tissue paper, sponge or wipe will lead to better understanding of the application process.


In case the area to be applied is large, the same can also be applied by an expert using a HVLP Spray. A little trial and error while application will lead to proper tuning of the HVLP spray and better application. Consulting an expert painter will help to a very large extent.



The surface should be cleaned thoroughly before application of the coating. Best if the surface is cleaned using Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). The surface can also be cleaned with plane water and soap/detergent/any cleaning agent.


Make sure the surface is free of dirt, dust, wax, oil, grease or any substance containing oil based petroleum products. Presence of the above mentioned substances, even in traces will not lead to proper adhesion of the coating to the substrate. The coating might peel off.


Make sure the surface is dry before application of the coating. Blow-drying the surface before application will lead to better drying and adhesion of the coating to the substrate.


The coating can be then applied using a cloth, wipe, cotton wool or sponge.


Little amount of the coating liquid can be taken on the application material and wiped over the surface smoothly to cover the whole surface.


Make sure you do not leave extra or excess liquid on the surface.


Make Sure the liquid is spread uniformly on the surface.


Leave the surface to dry for 24 Hours.


For best results, blow-dry the surface or heat the surface with an infrared torch for around 15 minutes and then leave the surface to dry for 24 hours. At home, while coating smaller items, one may use a hair drier to dry the surface after application.


Note: If the coating is not allowed to cure, the film will not form and will be washed away when treated with water.

How to Maintain the coating for best results?


Please understand that the coating imparts Antimicrobial Properties to a non-porous surface or a fabric.

Hence the coating is delicate and requires proper maintenance.

What to Avoid?


Moisture/Water (When the Coating is applied on a metal surface): Water is the greatest enemy of any coating. Water seeps in the space between the coating film and substrate and leads to peeling. Please avoid any moisture or water for the long life of the coating. Moisture should be avoided when the coating has been applied on a metal surface. 


Strong Acid or Alkali: Strong Acid or Alkali are corrosive on any substance and will have a detrimental effect on this coating as well.


Alcohol or Any other Solvent: Alcohol is a solvent. The coating will dissolve in alcohol leading to wiping away of the coating.

How to clean the surface after coating?


The coated surface should be cleaned by wiping or dusting the surface with a soft dry cloth. The surface can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner

What not to do with the coated surface?


Please understand that the coating is a thin, delicate polymer film. We know that polymers are not as strong or hard as metals or ceramics but delicate. Their properties are affected by temperature. We request you to:


Not rub the surface hard even with a dry cloth. The coating is a delicate polymer film. Too much hard rubbing might lead to the peeling-off of certain patches on the surface.


Not scrub the surface with a heavy-duty scrubber like steel wool/Scotchbrite or ceramic particle coated scrubbers.
